Second book in the Sergeant Gohara series and as good as the first one!
Second book in the Sergeant Gohara series and as good as the first one!
I ordered and received six books by Seicho Matsumoto. Reading them all will be my Spring challenge this year!
I found the concept of the book really good (6 detectives investigate a part of the case and only the reader gets the whole picture), but it somehow failed to completely trigger my interest.
First book in the Sergeant Gohara series and an entertaining whodunnit.
Reading notes for the first chapter of 内部の真実, especially military vocabulary and a list of characters.
Second book in the ukio-e series, 北斎殺人事件 is both an engrossing murder mystery and a fascinating exploration of Hokusai’s life. However, it felt very tedious to read at times, and it definitely belongs to the most difficult books I read in Japanese so far.
Third book in the Chigusa series, and unfortunately, the last one available.
New book haul! I ordered 6 books by Seicho Matsumoto and 3 books by Shizuko Natsuki!
I am currently taking a break in my project to read the winners of the Mystery Writers of Japan Award in order to explore the repertoire of the authors I have discovered so far through this project. To make things easier for me, I am listing here the winners of the prize that I loved..
Second book in the Chigusa series, 赤の組曲 is a fast-paced, engrossing detective novel.
A book about wrongful conviction and capital punishment with an engrossing investigation.
An engrossing book that tackles the topics of retribution, justice and mental illness.
