Series: Saburo Sugimura series (杉村三郎シリーズ)

Saburo Sugimura is not a private detective, at least, not in the first books of the series… His step-father is the CEO of a big corporation who forced him to work for his company, which meant giving up his job as editor in a publishing house specialised in children’s books. When the occasion arises though, Saburo Sugimura starts investigating and realises that he enjoys playing the detective.

Second book in the Saburo Sugimura series, this novel is quite slow and felt very long. I liked it overall, and I want to continue the series, but it is not my favourite detective novel.
