Author: Shizuko Natsuki (夏樹静子)

1938-2016
Shizuko Natsuki’s first novel, 天使が消えていく, was published in 1970, and she won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award in 1973 for 蒸発. Published in 1982, Wの悲劇, one of her most famous novels, is an homage to Ellery Queen with whom she was friend. In 1989, the French translation of 第三の女 won the Prix du Roman d’Aventures. Shizuko Natsuki has created two series: Lawyer Riyako Asabuki (弁護士 朝吹里矢子) and Public Prosecutor Yuko Kasumi (検事 霞夕子).

『Wの悲劇』, whose title is an homage to Ellery Queen, is certainly one of the most famous works by Shizuko Natsuki, but I did not enjoy it as much as I expected.
