This collection of short stories has been ranked first in three different rankings for mystery novels.
My first ever business novel and one of my favourite books read in Japanese!
『蜘蛛男』 is the first novel in the Kogoro Akechi series. A suspenseful battle against the most devilish villain we have seen so far!
A nice mystery novel with a slow start that becomes quite addictive the more the story goes on.
This is the 5th book of the Galileo series but only the second novel (with The Devotion of Suspect X). This is an excellent howdunnit that has been translated into English by Alexander O. Smith under the title Salvation of a Saint
This is the second book of the Ikagawa series. Not as good as the first one in my opinion, but still an enjoyable read.
This is the second book in the Kogoro Akechi series. It contains two novellas: 一寸法師 and 何者.
This book is the tenth book of the Kaga series and one of the best!
In his book, author and journalist Kiyoshi Shimizu recounts in detail how he investigated the Ashikaga murder case and showed that evidence collected against Toshikazu Sugaya was flawed. An engrossing read about one of Japan’s most know wrongful convictions.
This novel starts like a simple story of two asocial persons who somehow try to overcome their difficulties together, but it takes a surprising direction and is much more complex than it seems at first. The story is nice, but it was not for me.
A funny yet engrossing locked room mystery and an impressive debut novel.
