This novel won the Naoki Prize in 2018. Even though the plot was interesting, I was not able to feel involved in the story and did not like the characters.

『まる子だった』is a collection of 17 autobiographical short stories about Momoko Sakura’s childhood. The stories are very nice, sometimes funny, and not difficult to read. Highly recommended!
