Read today:
- I finished a short story by Kwak Jaesik (곽재식) about a private detective in 1949. It’s from the collection 사설탐정사의 밤. The story was good, but I mostly love the setting.
- I started another book by Futari Okajima (岡嶋二人). This time I came back to the writing duo’s first works with 焦茶色のパステル. It won the Edogawa Rampo Prize and is their first published novel.

I finished the last short story of this collection! It feels good to finish a book and reduce the pile of Korean collections of short stories I started but haven’t finished / still haven’t read yet.
괴이, 학원 had entertaining short stories, but I also did not like them that much overall. Maybe a little bit too supernatural for my liking.
I’ll continue this #ReadingChallenge (read two Korean short stories per week) until the end of the year. Still have 9 short stories to read then!
